16 Week Appointment

Today we had our 16 (almost 17) week OB appointment. Everything is looking good. It is so encouraging to hear that little heartbeat! As we were listening, today, there was static on the monitor. I looked at the doctor, and she said we have a very active little baby in there! The heartbeat ranged from the mid 140's to 160 when the baby was moving. All very good signs! At my next appointment, we have a scheduled ultrasound. There is currently a debate in our household about whether to find out the sex of our little one, so we'll see how it turns out!

I've been curious how you and your little one are doing -- you must have been reading my mind. Glad things are going well. We found out the sex for two of ours and were surprised w/ one -- I liked it both ways!

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess "girl", since this is an active cousin of Maggie Bella, Dragon Fetcher Extraordinaire....

You know I love the surprise of not knowing the sex! For me, as long as I knew that little rascal was good and healthy, the boy/girl thing was a great and joyous surprise. For some reason, I always, from the moment I found out I was pregnant, thought Maggie was a girl. Angus was a wild card, though.

And, how ARE the baby dragons, in your basement? Maggie has been fretting about them. She's willing to trade a kitten for a dragon....how are you going to swing THAT?

You know we love you, and we're thrilled to hear the good report.

um, we do NOT want kittens. And I think the easter bunny took the dragon eggs from our basement and hid them at somebody else's house. And their parents went to where the eggs have been relocated. And, we closed off their dragon-door, because we can't have dragons in our house when we have a baby. It just wouldn't be safe, John the dragon-slayer believes. (I think.) Could you imagine the surprise on the faces of those people who got dragon eggs in their easter basket? It would have to be one big basket. Don't eat them! They're not marshmallow filled! And even greater surprise when the mommy dragons showed up? I'm not sure which would be worse, that or the stomach flu!
